A FAR BETTER Love Story than Twilight (Pt. 2)

Mitsiki wraps his arms around Siren and pulls her close, deepening the kiss.  After a moment or so they break it off for air and gaze into each other's eyes for a moment.  
Mitsiki then asks Siren if she would like to go somewhere.

"How about we go get some food, because I'm starving," she says just as her stomach growls.

Mitsiki lets out a soft laugh at her turning red and stands up.  He holds out his hand to
Siren, which she grabs and stands up smiling.

"Alright then let's go get something to eat, shall we?"

"We shall," Siren says as she lets out a giggle.

Since it was about 11:30 am they both went and got lunch at Chick-fil-a.  While they were eating, they talked about recent events.  Siren had made some new friends at her work as a part-time Cashier at the local Super-Market.  Mitsiki didn't really need to say anything since he already told her, but decided to anyway.

"I just still can't believe she would do that to me, I just want to know why."

"Well since you proposed to go steady, she probably didn't want that."

"Then she could have said no, and end it right there," Mitsiki said as he accidentally slammed his palm against the table causing a few people to look at him.

"She could have, but she didn't, really the best thing you can do is just forget about her." Siren said and put her hand over his to try and calm him down.

"You're right, no sense in dwelling on the past, when I need to look forward to the future, our future," Mitsiki says calming down and smiling as he finishes what he says.
Siren blushes and returns his smile with a smile of her own.  They finish up their lunch and begin to head for the exit.  They both part ways outside the entrance with a kiss goodbye and Siren hurries off to make it to her job on time.  Mitsiki smiles after her retreating form.

"I love you," he says in a quiet voice.

Mitsiki decides to head to his apartment for the day and practice some guitar.  When he gets back he pours himself some water and goes to his living room.  He sets his water down on a table and grabs his guitar.  He practices for a few hours until he gets a phone call.  He picks up his cell and looks at the number.  He recognizes the number as Siren's, so he quickly and happily answers.

"Hey Siren."

"Hi Mitsiki," she says with an extra amount of happiness in her voice, "so whatcha doin'?"

"Nothing much just playing some guitar, how's work going?"

"It's going; I called because I'm on a 15 minute break."

"Well I can't wait until you get off so I can see you again."

"Sadly that won't be for another 5 hours, but I'll call you back when I go on my lunch break okay?"

"Okay sounds good."

"So what did you do when I left to go to work?"

"I went straight to my apartment, why?"

"Just wondering."

"Hm, okay."

They both fall silent when someone speaks to Siren.

"Hey Siren, your breaks over," someone yells in the background.

"But I still have 6 minutes left in my break," Siren yells back.

"I don't care; I need you back on this register, NOW."

"ALRIGHT, well I have to go, I'll call you on my lunch break, okay?"

"Okay, I'll talk to you then, bye."

"Goodbye Mitsiki, I-I love you," Siren says in an extremely quiet voice, causing Mitsiki to listen real close just to hear her.  Even then though he couldn't make out what she said, so he decides to ask her in a few hours.  Even so, it still bothers him.

"Hm, I wonder what it was that Siren said really quietly," Mitsiki ponders it for a moment, "oh well, guess I'll just have to wait."

Mitsiki decides to go out for some fresh air for a while at the park.  As he nears the park, he notices that there aren't many people.

"Good, there are not many people here, which means I can relax a little in peace."

So Mitsiki heads for a tree to rest and relax under.  He lies down and stares up at the sky and closes his eyes for a little while.

*4 hours later*

Mitsiki wakes up to a bright ball of light glaring right into his eyes.  He blinks multiple times from the intense light and sits up to where the sun is not in his face.  He pulls out his phone to see what time it is and realizes he has one missed call, from Siren.  Mitsiki face palms at having slept for four hours, and decides he will explain what happened in about 40 minutes when Siren gets off work.  So he texts her telling her to meet him at the park under the big Sakura tree in the center of the park.  He puts his phone back in his pocket and scoots back to lean up against tree.  While waiting someone comes up beside him out of his view.

"Hello Mitsiki-kun."

He turns to where the voice originates from and sees none other than his ex-girlfriend, Yumi.

Mitsiki stands up saying rather harshly, "What the hell do you want?"

Yumi winces at his sudden hostility, "I just came by to see how you were doing."

"Oh really, is that all?"

Yumi begins to nod her head but then shakes it from side-to-side.

"No I was looking for you for a reason."

"And what reason could that possibly be?"

"I know this probably means nothing to you but I'm sorry for what I did to you, I can't take it back, but if I could, I would do so a million times to earn your forgiveness."

"I can't forgive you for what you did; nothing you do can allow me to forgive you Yumi."

"Please Mitsiki-kun, please forgive me?" Yumi says with tears forming in her eyes.

"Yumi I can't ever forgive you," Mitsiki says plainly with no emotion at all.

"Then before I say goodbye for good, I need to do something first, for one last time."

"What?"

Before Mitsiki could ask her again, Yumi quickly pressed her lips to his.  Mitsiki eyes were wide with surprise.  From about 20 feet away he heard someone speak, while crying?

"M-M-M-M-Mitsiki?" asked the sad voice.

Mitsiki recognized it instantly as Siren's voice.  He shoved Yumi away and looked in the direction of Siren's voice.

"Siren WAIT this isn't what you think."

Siren wasn't listening; she turned around and started running down the street.  Mitsiki gave Yumi a bone-chilling glare and began to sprint after Siren.  He chased Siren for about ¼ of a mile, managed to almost catch up to her, but then tripped just as he said her name again to try and get her to stop.  Siren stops turns around to see what's going on and she sees Mitsiki lying on the ground unconscious.

"MITSIKI!" Siren shouts and runs over to his side, "someone call 911, hurry."
Siren gets on her knees and checks for a pulse on his neck; just to be sure he's still alive.  After she finds it she lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding.

"Don't worry Mitsiki you're gonna be all right," she says as she bends down and kisses his cheek.

*The Morning After Next*

Mitsiki wakes up and screams out Siren's name.  He quickly looks around and realizes he's in a room at the hospital.  He also realizes that Siren is nowhere to be found.  He looks down in sadness and anger and curls his hands into fists and begins to cry.

"Siren, I'm so sorry, I'm so very sorry for all that happened."

"Do you mean that?"

Mitsiki looks up towards the door and sees Siren standing in the doorway.

"Siren!?"

"How are you feeling?"

Mitsiki looks down again and sighs.

"I'm sorry Siren."

"Stop saying sorry when you don't need to."

"B-but I-"

"Yumi told me she was the one to kiss you, I yelled at her for it and she told me to hit her."

"But you didn't do?"

"No, there was no need to, I told her I'd forgive her this time, but from now on she has to leave you alone."

"I'm sure she will, she told me that she needed to do that one last time before she said goodbye for good."

"Did you feel anything?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Did you feel anything when she kissed you?"

"No, I felt nothing at all, which I'm glad about," Mitsiki says with a smile.

Siren smiles and then looks down at her feet.

"Is something wrong Siren?"

"N-no, no nothing is wrong, I'm just happy that you're okay."

"Um how long have I been in the hospital?"

"Two days."

"Okay, um two days ago, when I was talking to you on the phone, you said something very quietly, what was it?"

Siren turns red and says, "O-oh, u-um, i-it was n-nothing important."

"It was something important, otherwise you wouldn't have said it, so what did you say?" he asks and tilts his head to the side a little.

"Um, I-I-I told you that I uh, l-loved you," Siren whispers that last part.

"I'm sorry what was that last part?"

"I SAID I LOVED YOU!" Siren says rather loudly.  She realizes how loud she said it and turns very red and looks down at her feet again.

Mitsiki just lies there with his mouth open a little, "D-do you really l-love me?"

Siren nods her head, "I do, I have for a while, but I was too afraid to tell you until now I guess."

Mitsiki smiles at her, "Well guess what?"

"What?"

"I love you too Siren."

Siren smiles while still red.  She walked over to Mitsiki, bent down and kissed him on the lips for only a brief second.  After she pulled away they both looked into each other's eyes.  Mitsiki then put his hand a little behind her head and pulled her close to him and kissed her.  He tried to put as much passion as possible into the kiss.  They both kissed until they ran out of air.  Siren looked at Mitsiki for a moment then quickly went and locked the door.  She went back to Mitsiki and jumped up on to the hospital bed.
